Parrott Creek
Clackamas County, OR
2025
Founded over 55 years ago, Parrott Creek is a nonprofit offering leading programs for vulnerable children and families, including peer support, behavioral health, housing, and residential care.
Overview
Idea
Redevelop Parrot Creek as a regional center of excellence in service to children, youth, and families. The project occupies 5 acres of Parrott Creek’s 80-acre property, which features forests, wetlands, meadows, and cultural restoration efforts with Indigenous partners.
Implementation
Through a trauma-informed approach, Adre focused on the healing relationship between the landscape, spatial design, and the young residents. Additionally, Adre worked with the design team to curate three equity-centered studios as a part of the youth outreach activities.
Results
In the expansion, Adre transformed Parrott Creek’s campus from a series of ill-suited ad hoc buildings to a place where the residents can stabilize their lives, develop skills, and foster hope and success.
