The company was founded with the purpose of developing buildings that create social and economic benefits for Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) through the creation of affordable homes, mixed-use developments, and facilities for mission-driven organizations.
Adre developments seek to innovate in the real estate industry by creating pathways for wealth creation and financial stability for BIPOC communities and organizations; being a leader in diverse workforce participation from project conception to completion; and through sustainable building innovation.

Adrɛ, which means the number “seven” in the West African language of Ewe, was named after the culturally significant and sacred number of excellence and completeness. The name also pays homage to Tribal and First Nations communities that value the importance of thinking seven generations on how our society’s actions affect our communal and environmental well-being.
