Trauma Informed Design at Parrott Creek
Fall Semester 2022 - STU-1406
Instructors: Gina Ford / Anyeley Hallová

Inspired by Parrott’s Creek mission and its own ongoing effort to re-imagine and improve its 80-acre site, this interdisciplinary studio explored notions of Trauma-Informed Design as a methodology for forward-looking design interventions.

The studio’s inquiry included research, engagement with the Parrott Creek youth on their views of the site and program, strategic planning scenarios and ultimately design of planning-scale, site-scale and building-scale proposals. The following is sample works from five of the groups in the class.

Images above include work from students including Skylar Smith (MLA II 2023), Kat Wyatt (MLA I 2023), Enrique Cavelier (MLA | AP 2023), Cristian Umana (MLA II 2023), Shuyue Liu (MLA I AP 2023), Melody Zhao (MLA II 2023), Meghan Gutknecht (MLA I 2023), Yingchen Lang (MLA I AP 2023), Zina Fraser (MLA I 2023)
