Adre partners with institutions to deliver intentional equity-centered studios and research that inspire the next generation of leaders and partner with youth programs to introduce the fields of development, design, and construction to BIPOC-youth.

NOMA Student Design Competition - Fall 2023

Student chapters of the National Association of Minority Architects (NOMA) designed concepts for the Williams & Russell Project, a restorative justice project that addresses systemic injustices against Portland’s Black community. Thirty-eight chapters participated in the Barbara G. Laurie Student Design Competition, the largest number of university participants in its history. First place went to Cornell University; second to Auburn University; and third to University of Southern California. For all submissions.

 

Net Zero Fellowship - 2023/2024

The Energy Trust of Oregon Net Zero Fellowship aims to address technological, financial, social, and other market barriers to net-zero energy buildings and to grow the community of practitioners advancing commercial net-zero energy development in Oregon and Washington. Anyeley Hallová of Adre is a 2022 Net Zero Fellow researching - “The Williams & Russell Project: Developing a Framework for an Ecodistrict and District Energy Microgrid”. For more information.

Parrott Creek Studios - Fall 2022

Parrott Creek Child & Family Services, in Portland, Oregon, support's some of Portland's most vulnerable community members: children and families caught up in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. Members of the Parrott Creek redevelopment team created three distinct studios that centered on design outcomes to support Parrott Creek youth using Trauma-Informed Design principles. The studios engaged graduate students at Harvard University and University of Oregon and the youth at Parrott Creek. Click images below to see student work.
