Meyer Memorial Trust HQ

Portland, OR
2020

Meyer Memorial Trust is a Portland-based foundation that invests in measures to ease systemic inequities and disparities.

Overview

Idea

To create a mission-driven office space in the historic Albina neighborhood that is welcoming to the community.

Implementation

Rooted in environmental sustainability, diversity, equity, and inclusion, this building is the restoration of a previously-derelict site of a former towing yard, adjacent to the I-5 highway.

Results

The building’s iconic roofline, photovoltaic panels, and other design elements help track the building for Energy Trust of Oregon’s “Path to Net Zero” and LEED v4 Platinum certification. Construction boasted 47% Minority- or Women-Owned Business (MSB-WSB) participation and serves as a model for responsible and equitable development.
