Joe Swank
Senior Development Manager
Joe oversees development and construction management, guiding consultant teams and engaging with communities and government partners to ensure a seamless and robust project delivery.
Joe is a real estate development professional with over 20 years of experience in delivering large projects in design and construction and is committed to increasing representation for historically underrepresented communities in the design and construction industries.
Prior to Adre, Joe was a Project Architect for Hacker Architects for 8 years leading design and construction of several large commercial buildings including market-rate commercial projects and buildings for education and non-profit organizations.
The 10 years prior to Hacker, Joe delivered sustainable commercial and education projects at ZGF Architects and Bora Architecture & Interiors. He also spent two years as a Project Engineer at Hoffman Construction, garnering a deep understanding of project delivery from design through project closeout.
Joe pushes for sustainable innovation and is committed to an inclusive process that creates space and projects that are a reflection of the community and values in which they serve.
Joe serves on the Portland Design Commission and in 2016 Joe co-founded Your Street Your Voice, a program where BIPOC and LGBTQ+ centered youth learn about careers in the built environment through a lens of social justice. He has continued to participate and facilitate a cohort for this program since its inception.
