Oregon Conservation
Center
Project Type: Mission
Office
Role: Fee Developer
Partners: Nature Conservancy
The Nature Conservancy’s (TNC) new Oregon headquarters, the Oregon Conservation Center, demonstrates the conservancy's commitment to sustainability, diversity, and ecological wellness. The project is rooted in a deep belief that Oregon’s natural environment is a resource and was intended to complement and restore TNC’s existing 1970’s office building alongside of a new pavilion, to host on-site collaboration with other partner environmental organizations. The building utilized advanced solar and stormwater management technology, a landscape of native Oregon flora, innovative cross laminated timber (CLT), and other building materials sources from TNC’s project sites. The project was inherently values-driven. As the embodiment of environmentalism and sustainability, the Conservation Center connects people with nature in the heart of Portland.
Values: Design Excellence, Development Innovation, and Environmental Stewardship.
