2024
Contemporary Arts Museum Houston (CAMH) is one of the country's oldest non-collecting contemporary art museums and is internationally known for presenting landmark work by artists.
Overview
Idea
In celebration of its 75th anniversary, CAMH set out to envision a future that deepens its support for Houston’s artists. The museum explored expanding its physical footprint to better serve its community, address critical space needs, and reflect its identity as a civic-minded institution rooted in the concept of “Trust Artists”.
Implementation
Through a series of collaborative workshops with museum leadership, board members, and staff, Adre explored multiple development scenarios of mission-aligned programming, site strategies, cost estimating, and financing recommendations that honor CAMH’s artist-first values.
Results
A campus vision and value set (for internal use) that explores expanded Museum support, artist use space, gardens, and outdoor programming community space.
